Tokyo – Solo show
Hom Nguyen presents his work in Tokyo, paying tribute to Japan through the exhibition titled "Human," which examines the human figure through vibrant colors such as yellow, red, and orange. Yellow, often associated with a brightness that is very present in the artist's work, evokes the warmth of the sun illuminating the famous fields of sunflowers as well as the autumn landscapes of the archipelago. Red, also found in the torii gates of Shinto shrines, resonates as an echo of a deep spirituality that is deeply rooted in the artist's works. Orange, a warm fusion of red and yellow, adds a dimension of friendliness and dynamic energy while awakening intense emotions and establishing a connection with the living.
The feminine figure, omnipresent in this exhibition, emerges as a symbol of strength and resilience. It embodies, through its forms and expressions, a multitude of emotions and stories. Gazes and lines intersect, evoking the vibrancy of Shibuya, where the intensity of human interactions creates a vibrant tapestry of connections. This dynamic of gazes, both intimate and collective, reinforces the notion of community and belonging while highlighting the diversity of human experiences. Thus, Hom Nguyen's work becomes a mirror of contemporary society, where the feminine figure and visual exchanges intertwine to tell a common story.
